Tomorrow is my Birthday Bash Card Making Party!
I'm excited and cautiously optimistic! I have a few friends coming over with their children. There will be the range of scrapbooking skills - expert to those who have never made a single card!
So far, I've made two card kits and hope to get several more kits put together today.

Battle Saint Bracelets
Have you ever heard of a Battle Saint Bracelet?
Prior to this weekend, I hadn't!
That's when a good friend of mine gave me one. Basically, the idea is to wear this bracelet as we pray for our service men/women and pray for their safe return. I have worn mine since and have found it to be a wonderful reminder to think and pray for them often.
Also, part of every purchase price goes to the Intrepid Fallen Hero's Fund.
They have a wonderful story and more information on their website:

Starting at the beginning....
Hello!
I'm starting at the beginning.... My first blog/blog entry, my first card contest entry, my first card created for Operation Write Home (OWH)!
I was so excited to find Operation Write Home. Finally a way to use my passion (paper crafts) to show my appreciation and support to our service men and women.
While researching OWH, I found out about the Joann's Craft for a Cause contest and read about the request for a Birthday Bash card making party. I decided to jump in with both feet and do both!
I have scheduled a card making birthday bash with a few of my friends later this month.
Plus I have made a card for the Craft for a Cause contest!
I knew I wasn't in a position to buy a bunch of new tools to create a winning entry, so my approach was to find some inexpensive items at Joann's that I could use to create a basic card to submit on behalf of OWH. Here's hoping THEY win the contest and receive a large amount of money for shipping!
Here's my basic card:

I purchased a pack of A2 cards, a "Sending you a great big Hug!!" stamp, a new stamp pad, 2 sheets of paper and some items from the $1 bin (brads, chip board sayings...). All things I'll use for more than just one card. The best part is that it didn't cost very much at all!
I hope you will be inspired to create a card for the contest and show your support of OWH too!
Now to explain my foray into blogging...
I couldn't believe all the cards out there on the OWH blogs! There are some really talented people out there!
One blog led to another and another... (my newest time wasting internet obsession!) Plus, with each card I saw, I wanted to make my own cards - using the CASE method, of course.
...so as to not just be a "lurker" I decided to try my hand at blogging too!
Please bear with me as I figure out how this all works. And hopefully one day, my posts will inspire someone else to create tons of new cards, maybe even become a blogger....
Cheers!
